JEL

RC3 overspeed relay

There are three variants of this unit.

The first (painted black) operates from 230 volts and is very unreliable from new.
It has been known for new units to fail within a couple of weeks of installation. These have a couple of design faults which we correct during repair. To date none of the units we have repaired has failed again.

The second type is usually silver and operates at any voltage from 24 to 240 volts. These mostly fail when being operated at 24 volts. We modify the circuitry of these such that they will ONLY operate at a specific voltage (usually 24v).

The third type is also silver and is a 24 volt only version.

The units are tested on a purpose built test jig after repair.

TSC1
Another overspeed relay which has problems with the power supply. This is repaired and modified to eliminate further problems.

We have been repairing components of the JEL BMS system since about 1990.

Unlike some PCB repair houses, we do not simply change everything and hope it works. We have traced the circuits of the units we have seen for repair so we can fully test the units afterwards. For testing we have built dedicated test jigs and wiring harnesses, which along with specially written test software allows use to fully test all aspects of the various boards.
